DHAKA: Garment workers staged agitation in the city’s Mirpur area Tuesday to press their demands, including dues.

The agitated workers of Outright Fashion took to the street at Sheorapara at about 3pm and later blockaded the busy Mirpur-Farmgate route.

Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control at about 5pm.  

“The situation is now under control and workers have become quiet,” said OC of Mirpur Thana Kazi Wazed to Banglanews24.com.

Police forces from Mirpur and Kafrul police stations were in the area for further action, if necessary, he added.
