The United States has reiterated its desire to see free and fair elections and freedom of expression in Bangladesh.
The US under secretary for civilian security, democracy, and human rights Uzra Zeya said this in a social media post on Tuesday (September 19) following a meeting with foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen in New York yesterday afternoon.
After the meeting, Uzra Zeya tweeted that she had productive conversation with Masud Bin Momen.
"Appreciated meeting again to discuss the importance of free and fair elections, freedom of expression, and continued humanitarian support for Rohingya and communities that host them," US Under Secretary Uzra Zeya tweeted.
Uzra Zeya visited Bangladesh in July this year and called for free, fair and peaceful elections.
