Inu urges Pak not to intervene on internal affairs

DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Tuesday urged Pakistan not to intervene on internal affairs of Bangladesh.

The minister made the call while talking to journalists at his office on Tuesday, a day after the Pakistan National Assembly adopted a resolution expressing concern over the execution of war crimes convict Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah alias Kashai Quader.

He said, “The Pakistani authorities should withdraw the resolution on the execution of war criminal Abdul Quader Mollah and they should withdraw the comment of Home Minister of Pakistan.”

Pakistani Minister Nisar Ali Khan Chowdhury earlier termed the execution of Quader Mollah as “a planned political killing for his loyalty to Pakistan”.

On Monday, earlier, the National Assembly of Pakistan passed a resolution against hanging of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh leader Abdul Quader Mollah for his ‘loyalty’ to Pakistan during the Liberation War in 1971.
