COMILLA: A Grameen Bank official was stabbed to death by miscreants at Purbapara of Sujanagar in the town on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Dilip Kumar Banik, 31, a Grameen Bank field officer of Jagannathpur union under Sadar upazila.

Local sources said Dilip was returning office after colleting cash form bank members around 2:00pm. On way, 3/4 muggers were trying to snatch his money bag but failed.

At one stage, muggers stabbed Dilip, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Kotwali Thana Shamsuzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
