Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over six divisions and at many places over other two divisions.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country", said a met office forecast for the last twenty-four hours begins from 9 am today.
Day and night temperatures may fall by 1-2 degree Celsius over the country, it said.
Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 33.6 degree Celsius at Tangail and the minimum temperature today was recorded 17.5 degree Celsius at Tetulia.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 62 millimeters (mm) at Teknaf.
The Depression over West central Bay and adjoining area moved north-northeastwards, intensified into a Cyclonic Storm "Hamoon" first and then into a Severe Cyclonic Storm "Hamoon" and now lies over Northwest Bay and adjoining areas.
It is likely to move north-northeastwards and may cross Barishal-Chattogram coast near Bhola by tomorrow (25 October) noon.
