Khawaja Tower, which was damaged by fire yesterday evening, is now under police supervision.
Members of Banani police have taken position in front and behind the damaged building, and no one is allowed to enter for safety purpose.
Banani Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Toukir Ahmed confirmed the matter today (October 27).
He said the building has separate offices on different floors; many of the offices equipment were damaged. Therefore, thinking about peoples safety no one is allowed to enter the building.
“Situation inside is still unsafe. If all goes well, we will let in the employees to the building,” he added.
On Thursday (October 26) evening, the fire that broke out on the 12th floor of a 14-storied building named Khawaja Tower at Amatali of Mohakhali in the capital till now claimed life of three persons.
Total twelve firefighting units relentlessly worked to bring the blaze under control,’ said Shajahan Shikder, senior staff officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence..
