Officers’ Club Dhaka hosted a Mezban programme, traditional feast of Chattogram, for the high officials of the government and their family members on Saturday.
Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain, also the chairman of Officers’ Club Dhaka, was the chief guest at the programme presided over by former secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Mesbah Uddin at the club premises in the capital’s Ramna area.
Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain handed over a crest to Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir to honour him at the programme.
Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Ministry of Public Administration Senior Secretary Mohammed Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury, Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, Home Ministry’s Security Services Division Secretary Abdullah Al Masud Chowdhury, Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary Amin Ullah Nuri, Health Services Division Secretary Jahangir Alam and Bangladesh Public Service Commission Chairman Sohrab Hossain, among other guests, were present on the occasion.
Club authorities said every year such programmes were organised for club members and their families. However, it was not possible to organise the programme for the last three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They also said at the Mezban, traditional cuisines of Chattogram were prepared for 7,000 people, including club members and their families. This year’s event was organised by the courtesy of Bashundhara Group.
