A total of 230 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) forces were deployed across the country, including 28 in Dhaka and adjacent districts, to maintain law and order situation.

BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter on Wednesday (November 26). 

Besides, an adequate number of BGB personnel were kept on standby to promptly respond to any emergency in the country.

On the 7th phase of blockade enforced by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its allies started on Sunday, 202 BGB platoons were deployed outside Dhaka to avoid any untoward incidents.

The party has announced a series of hartals and blockades since their October 28 rally was foiled.
