KISHOREGANJ: At least 15 shops were gutted in a devastating fire at Baro Bazar of the district town on Thursday night.

Sources said that the fire originated from short circuit of a stationary shop at around 10:00pm.

On information, Kishoreganj fire service unit rushed to the spot and doused the fire after one hour efforts.

Confirming the matter, Fire service station’s deputy assistant director Prannath Saha told banglanews, “The fire damaged assets worth about Tk 30 Lakhs.”

But the victims claimed that the extent of loss from the fire could go up Tk 1 crore.

Deputy Commissioner SM Alama and Police Super Anwar Hossain Khan visited the spot.
