A former army man was killed after being run over by a bus in Barishal's Wazirpur upazila on Monday (December 4) morning.

The incident took place this morning in front of Hawladar Bari at Atipara village of the upazila.

The dead Fuad Sharif, 30, son of Faruk Hossain Sharif, hailed from Batajor village under Batajor union of the upazila. He worked at Barishal Sheikh Hasina cantonment.

Wazirpur Model Police Station officer-in-charge Tauhiduzzaman Sohag confirmed the matter.

He said, Fuad Sharif was going to Barishal this morning riding on a motorcycle from Batajor of the upazila. On the way, a bus of Ena Paribahan ran over him in that area. He died on the spot.

Later, police recovered the body from the spot and took to the police station.

He also said that the bus and the driver have been arrested. The process of handing over the body to the family members of the deceased is underway.
