DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the nation at 7:00 pm Thursday ahead of the 10th national elections on Sunday.

Her speech will be telecast by Bangladesh Television (BTV), the state owned television channel. Bangladesh Beter also will broadcast the Prime Minister’s address to the nation.

News of the Sheikh Hasina’s pre-election speech was confirmed to banglanews by Information affairs adviser to the premier, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury.

In her speech, Hasina will take the nation into confidence about the importance of forthcoming parliamentary elections and current political stalemate.

She is likely to tell voters to exercise their franchise without any fear to strengthen democracy and the rule of law for the nation’s progress.

She will also highlight her government’s achievements and the role of Awami League in improving living standards.
