DHAKA: A young couple attempted to suicide at capital’s Hatirjheel where the boy died and the girl survived after jumping from bridge on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Ehsanul Haque Tanmay, 16 and the injured girl is Shirina Rahman Meem, 15.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Badda Thana MA Jalil said that on information police rushed to spot and rescued Meem alive.

She is kept in the Thana while the reason of suicide attempt still unknown, he added.
