11 pairs of special trains to facilitate Ijtema devotees

The Bangladesh Railway (BR) will operate 11 pairs of special trains on different routes in the country to facilitate smooth travels for devotees of the Bishwa Ijtema, one of the largest Muslim congregations in the world.

Railway Minister Zillul Hakim gave this information at the capital's Rail Bhawan on Tuesday (January 23).

First phase of Bishwa Ijtema will be held on February 2, 3 and 4 and second phase on February 9, 10 and 11.

However, a pair of trains named Jumma Special-2 will run on Dhaka-Tongi-Dhaka route on February 2 and 9. Special-1 pair of trains will run on Jamalpur-Tongi route on February 3 and 10.

Special trains will run on different routes on the day of ‘Akheri Munajat’ (February 4 and 19), said Rail authorities.

The trains are: 5 pairs of special trains on Dhaka-Tongi-Dhaka route, 1 pair on Tongi-Mymensingh-Tongi route and 1 special train on Tongi-Tangail-Tongi route. And 2 pairs of special trains will run on Ishwardi-Tongi-Ishwardi route.
