At least 14 members of Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) illegally entered Bangladesh today (February 4) amid clashes between the army and the country's rebels last night.
On the other hand, two Bangladeshis were injured during infighting between the Myanmar army and the rebels today.
Lt Col Abdullah Al Masruque, commander of BGB-34 Battalion in Cox's Bazar confirming the matter said BGP members took shelter at Tumbru outpost.
“Arakan army militants took control over BGP outpost. At that time the 14 members sped away to Bangladesh and took shelter. Later, the force members were disarmed and weapons were confiscated. Further action will be taken as per international regulations,” Abdullah added.
