JHENAIDAH: Miscreants chopped three police personnel including a Sub-Inspector (SI) and set fire to Mamunsia polling centre under Court Chandpur upazila of the district at around 10:30pm Saturday.

The injured were identified as SI Milon, police personnel Zamirul Islam and Ohidul Islam.

Officer-in-Charge of Court Chandpur Thana Shahjahan Ali told banglanews that some 50-60 activists of 18-party attacked the polling centre at Mamunsia village of the thana at around 10:30pm and blasted 15-20 cocktails.

During the time, they also chopped three police persons including SI Milon, he added.

He also said, on information, army personnel recovered the injured police personnel and admitted to Upazila Health Complex.
