Another mortar shell from Myanmar lands in Bangladesh

Another mortar shell from Myanmar landed across the border in Bandarban's Ghumdhum union on Tuesday (February 6) morning.

Md Anwar Hossain, a member of Ward 5 of Ghumdhum confirmed the matter.

The mortar shell fell on the courtyard of a house around 9:00am, he added.

However, no one was injured, he claimed.

Earlier on Monday, at least two people were killed and a child was injured after a mortar shell, reportedly fired by Myanmar, fell on the Ghumdum border in Bandarban.

Till now, a total of 229 members of Myanmar’s Border Guard Police (BGP) have entered Bangladesh territory so far and sought shelter during the ongoing conflict between the ethnic Arakan Army and Myanmar troops along the international border.
