DHAKA: A child was injured in a cocktail blast at Middle Badda in the capital on Monday morning.

The injured child is Fahim, 8, a class-2 student of Middle Badda Primary School and son of Shahid, a rickshaw puller by profession of the area.

Badda Thana officer-in-charge Abdul Jalil said Fahim along with his one friend were playing in front of their house. At that time, two unidentified men gave him a bag which carried two cocktails and tennis ball.

When Fahim opened the bag one cocktail was blasted and injured Fahim and his friend.

Seriously injured Fahim was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he is now under treatment.
