A fire broke out at a slum in Dhaka's Mirpur area on Monday (February 19) afternoon.
Anwarul Islam Dolan of the Fire Service Headquarters confirmed the matter.
He said eight fire engines were trying to douse the blaze that originated at 1:55pm at Jhilpar slum in Mirpur-12.
The fire was brought under control around 2 pm.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, he said, adding no casualties were reported still.
