The Cabinet today (March 13) approved in principle to 'Road Transport (Amendment) Act, 2024' draft, reducing the financial penalties under various sections.
This approval came from the Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Prime Minister's Office in the capital.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain confirmed the matter.
He said the proposal to reduce the financial penalty in 12 sections has been approved.
The financial penalties under 12 sections are - display of fare chart, fee at terminal, driving without meter, violation of traffic signal, overload, environmental pollution, stopping vehicle without parking, general instructions violations.
