KHAGRACHHARI: A gang of burglars looted Tk 24 lakh from a branch of Janata Bank here on Friday.

“The incident took place at around 4am Friday as the burglars broke the bank’s vault and fled with the amount,” Bank’s Branch Manager Saiful Alam told banglanews24.com.bd.

Police arrested night guard of the bank - Rafiqul Alam in this connection.

“Police now interrogating the night guard to catch the gang and recover the money,” Sadar thana Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad said.

Khagrachhari’s Deputy Commissioner and the Police Super visited the spot.
