The Cabinet Committee on Law and order today (March 31) recommended increasing one day of holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr to facilitate people’s journey.
Liberation War Affairs Minister and also Committee President AKM Mozammel Haque said the committee has recommended a holiday for 9 April at a meeting in the Secretariat.
The recommendation will be placed in the Cabinet meeting tomorrow, he said.
The Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on 10 or 11 April subject to the sighting moon.
The holidays have been determined for 10, 11 and 12 April targeting Eid on 11 April and counting 30 days of Ramadan month.
