Members of Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police today (April 8) arrested a member of banned militant outfit ‘Ansar Al Islam’ from Korail Adarshanagar in the capital’s Banani area.

The arrested was identified as Md Samshul Haque alias Eman, 27 of Burirchar village in Barguna. 

ATU Media and Awareness Wing police super Barrister Mahfuzul Alam Russel confirmed the matter.

He said Eman along with other members of the organization were planning to carry out sabotage attack in the country.

A case was filed with Banani police station in this regard.
