MAGURA: Two children drowned in a pond at Sripur upazila in the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Chandni, 4, daughter of Biplob Sheikh and Tamim, 4, son of Jamal Sheikh, hailed from Boralidah village of the upazila.

Tamim’s father told banglanews that Chandni and Tamim were two cousins and playing by a pond near their house. Family members looked for them for a long time and found their floating bodies in the pond, he added.

Officer-in-Charge of Sripur Thana Biplob Kumar Nath confirmed the matter to banglanews.
