JOYPURHAT: Two motorcyclists were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Bhikni area under Akkelpur upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Ferdouse Ali, 24, son of Khalilur Rahman, resident of Sadar upazila and the identity of another victim could not be known immediately.

Witnesses said a rashly driven motorbike collided head on with a passenger-van in the area around 5:30pm, leaving two motorcyclists dead on the spot and two passengers of the van injured critically.

The injured were rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Akkelpur Thana Rezaus Sadik Reza confirmed the matter to banglanews.
