Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim found dead in Kolkata 

The body of Anwarul Azim, the Member of Parliament from the Jhenaidah-4 constituency, has been recovered from Kolkata.

Indian media reported on Wednesday (May 22) that the dead body was found in Kolkata New Town area.

Sources from the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata confirmed the matter.

However, it is not yet known whether he was killed or not.

Anwarul Azim went to India through the Darshana border on 12 May. He was in contact with the family till 14 May. There is no information regarding his whereabouts since 16 May. His mobile phone is also switched off.

His family informed the detective police that Anwarul Azim went missing after going to India.

Md Anwarul Azim Anar was elected MP for Jhenaidah-4 in 2014, 2018, and 2024.
