Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), on Friday (June 7) claimed that the ongoing issues of the country cannot be dealt with this proposed budget.
CPD Executive Director Dr Fahmida Khatun remarked in a post-budget briefing at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in Dhaka.
She said macroeconomics has suffered on all indicators. There are no concrete measures in terms of inflation control and foreign exchange reserves. So it is not possible to deal with the ongoing crisis with this budget.
Fahmida also said steps that need to be taken to deal with economic concerns have not been taken into account in the budget of the financial year 2024-25.
“The steps taken in the budget to prevent inflation and provide relief to low-income people are not enough,” thinks CPD Executive Director.
