COMILLA: At least 13 shops were gutted in a fire in municipality bazaar area under Daudkandi upazila of the district early Tuesday.
Witnesses said that the fire originated from a short circuit that broke out very quickly in the adjacent areas and gutted 13 shops around 4:30am.
On information, Daudkandi fire service workers rushed the spot and doused the blaze after frantic trying for an hour.
Local businessman Sharif said that the properties damaged worth about Tk one crore.
Officer-in-Charge of Daudkandi Model Thana Abu Salam Mia confirmed the matter to banglanews.
