Dhaka North city corporation mayor Atiqul Islam in a meeting said a 15-bigha of land next to Anisul Haque Road had been allotted for the relocation of Tejgaon's truck stand.

He made the remark after attending a programme in caputal’s Tejgaon District Awami League office on Wednesday (June 19).

The mayor said, “Tejgaon truck stand has long been a bottleneck for city dwellers. Therefore, 15 bigha of land has been found next to Anisul Haque road for its removal.”

“The present stand has capacity of 5,800 tracks, by removing and developing multi-storied truck stand on 15 bigha land, we can restore order in Dhaka city,” he added.
