3 killed in Dhaka road accidents

A total of three people were killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka on Friday (June 28).

Deceased Rahul and his younger brother Rafi died after a sand-laden truck coming from opposite direction crashed their motorcycle in Kalshi Bridge area, according to family member.

Locals rushed the critically injured to Kurmitola General Hospital. But later, they were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead.

Inspector in charge of police outpost of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Bachchu Mia confirmed their death.

Another person named Afzal, 25, an event management worker, hailed from Fulbaria of Mymensingh, died after a pick-up van overturned on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Khilkhet area of the capital on Friday.  

A pick-up van carrying Afzal overturned after losing control over the steering in the area. Critically injured Afzal was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, according to deceased brother.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police outpost, confirmed the matter.
