Govt to relax curfew from 13hr for next 4 days

The government has decided to relaxe the ongoing curfew from 7am to 8pm for the next four days (Wednesday to Saturday) in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal came up with the announcement on Tuesday (July 30).

The process of banning Jamaat-Shibir politics from the country is currently underway, said the home minister after emerging from a meeting held with top brass of the government at his ministry office in Dhaka this afternoon

Some ministers, state ministers and heads of the law enforcement agencies held the emergency meeting over contemporary issues.

The meeting will also discussed other issues, such as the quota reform movement and its aftermath, the withdrawal of the curfew, and the overall law and order situation.

The country's overall situation is gradually returning to normal, which has led to the relaxation of the ongoing curfew in four districts, said the home minister.

In the remaining districts, the curfew relaxation time will be determined by the respective deputy commissioners, he added.
