Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the countrymen to deal with the situation that evolved against the backdrop of the ongoing student movement with the iron hand.

She said: “The people engaged in subversive activities on the streets are not students, but terrorists. Deal with the miscreant with an iron hand.” 

The prime minister came up with the plea on Sunday after emerging from a meeting on security issues.

Earlier, the prime minister held a meeting with the members of the National Committee on Security Affairs at her official residence Ganabhaban in Dhaka around 11 am.

Top officials within the government, including ministers, state ministers, secretaries, chiefs of the army staff, police, navy and coast guard and chiefs of different intelligence agencies attended the meeting.
