The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated an investigation against Ashraful Alam Khokan, a former deputy press secretary to ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, for allegedly amassing illegal assets.
The decision was made during a meeting at the ACC headquarters on Tuesday, sources said.
Khokan, who served as the deputy press secretary from 2013 to 2021, is accused of accumulating significant wealth through corrupt practices.
ACC sources said that four private cars are registered in his name. Khokan, who holds dual citizenship in Bangladesh and the United States, is now under scrutiny as the ACC examines the allegations against him.
