Three top police officials have been sent into forced retirement from service.

Three separate circulars of the home ministry, signed by senior secretary Mohammad Abdul, confirmed the matter on Wednesday (August 21).

The three officials are additional IGP Atikul Islam, additional IGP (supernumerary) of police Headquarters Anwar Hossain and additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md Asaduzzaman.

The trio had been missing from the office for the last couple of days.

Besides, twelve deputy inspectors general (DIGs) and 11 superintendents of police (SPs) were transferred on Wednesday.

The home ministry issued two separate circulars regarding the transfers, which came to effective immediately.
