Bangladesh Meteorological Department today (August 29) predicted light to moderate and moderately heavy to heavy rainfall or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind at places over all eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today.
According to the latest weather bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.
Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country, it added.
Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius in Sayedpur district of Rangpur Division, while today's minimum temperature 24.0 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bandarban district of Chattogram division.
Rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded 58mm in Maijdee Court, Chattogram.
The sun sets at 6:19 pm today and rises at 5:40 am tomorrow in the capital.
