Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today (September 17) arrested one person identifying him as Delwar Hossain Rubel believed to have fired bullets at the student-people at Uttara during the nationwide mass upsurge conducting a drive at Tongi of Gazipur district.

"We rounded up Rubel from Tongi early today for his alleged involvement in firing at the demonstrators during the anti-discrimination student movement at Uttara on August 3," RAB's legal and media wing director Lt Col Md Munim Ferdous told.

Rubel's name was on 45 number of the accused list in a case filed with Uttara Purba Police Station over firing at the agitating people from a pistol during the movement at sector-11 of Uttara on the day.

He has already been handed over to the Uttara Purba Police Station.
