NARAYANGANJ: Four people were arrested on charge of allegedly raping a housewife in front of her tied husband at Habibpur village under Mugrapara union of Sonargon upazila of the district on Sunday night.     

The arrestees are -- Sahin Mia, son of Mustofa, Sakil Ahmed, son of Moharaj Bepari, Monir, son of Safiuddin of Habibpur village. Another rapist is Sumon Chandra Das, son of Porikkhit Chandra Das of Motlob Thana.        

Sonargaon Thana Officer-in-Charge M Rezaul Haq confirmed the matter to banglanews.  

He said apart from lotting valuables including gold ormanents and cash, the miscreants raped the victime as her husband failed to meet their demand of extortion.  

The victim was sent  to Narayanganj Hospital for treantment and test, he added.
