Three female garment workers were killed and at least 19 others injured after a bust collided head-on with a truck in Manikganj's Shibaloy upazila on Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 6:30 am at Boali area of the upazila. 

However, the identities of the victims could not be known immediately.

According to police, a bus carrying employees of Taraseema garment factory was going towards Nayadingi in Manikganj from Aricha in the morning. On the way, a truck from the opposite direction collided with the bus in that area. A woman died on the spot and 20 were injured. 

The injured were taken to Shibalaya Upazila Health Complex and Manikganj District Hospital for treatment. 

Barangail Highway outpost in-charge Md Ibrahim said efforts are underway to identify the victims. Legal action is being processed in this regard.
