Light to moderate rain likely over parts of country

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over a northern division; at a few places over the country's north-central, south and south-eastern regions and at one or two places over north and two southern districts including Dhaka with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.                                  

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur division; at a few places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country", said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9 am today (September 27).

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Day and night temperatures may rise by 1-3 degree Celsius over the country.

Country's highest temperature on Thursday was recorded 33.0 degree Celsius jointly at Sitakunda and Kutubdia and the minimum temperature today was recorded 23.4 degree Celsius at Tetulia.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded 197 millimeters (mm) at Dinajpur. The sun sets at 05.50 pm and rises at 05.49 am tomorrow in the capital.
