Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted sporadic rain in parts of the country but the weather will remain mainly dry, said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am this morning (October 13).
According to the BMD bulletin, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Bangladesh except Chattogram region. Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from rest part of Bangladesh during next 24 hours.
A low pressure area is likely to form over Southwest Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.
Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Mongla and Khepupara while minimum temperature today was recorded 23.2 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.
Highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 28 millimeters (mm) in Dhaka.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
