The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Tuesday (Oct 22), arrested 11 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement.

They seized 54 pieces of Yaba tablets, 1.70kg hemp and 1.5gm heroin, and 5 bottles of Phensedyl from their possessions, it added. 

According to the statement, 11 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
