The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Thursday (Oct 24), arrested 21 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement.

They seized 157 pieces of Yaba tablets, 9.710kg hemp and 4gm heroin, 20 bottles of Phensedyl, and 5 litre local wine from their possessions, it added. 

According to the statement, 13 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
