The severe cyclonic storm "DANA" over Northwest Bay and adjoining Odisha and West Bengal coasts moved North-Northwestwards, crossed North Odisha coast around 3 am today and now lies over North Odisha and adjoining area.
It is likely to move West-Northwestwards further and weaken gradually, said a BMD bulletin here.
Under its influence, gusty/squally wind is likely to affect North Bay, maritime ports and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal no. three.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea were advised to remain in shelter till morning.
