MANIKGANJ: A speeding truck hit a motorcycle on Dhaka-Aricha highway under Saturia of the district Sunday night leaving a bike rider killed and another critically injured.

The deceased was identified as Tulshi Rani Sarker, 25 of Umedpur village under Sadar upazila who was riding on the bike along with her husband Krishna Kumar Sarker, 32, who received critical injuries.

Victim’s family members said the couple was on their way to village home around 10pm when their bike was hit by the truck.

Local people rescued and took them to Manikgonj Sadar Hospital.

They were later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as condition deteriorated. Tulshi Rani succumbed to her injuries on way, doctors said.
