DHAKA: Some fifteen eminent personalities have been awarded Ekushey Padak-2014 for their outstanding contribution contribution to their respective fields.

The disclosure came from a press release sent from the cultural affairs ministry on Tuesday afternoon.

The recipients are Shamsul Huda and Dr Badrul Alam (posthumous) for language movement, Shamorjit Roy Chowdhury, Ramkanai Das, Keramot Maula and SM Solaiman (posthumous), Golam Sarwar in Journalism, Dr Enamul Haque in research, Dr Anupam Sen in education, Jamil Chowdhury, Belal Chowdhury, Rashid Hayder, Biprodas Barua and Abdus Sakur (posthumous) for language and literature and Dr Mujibur Rahman for social service.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will confer the award among them on February 20 in ceremony at Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
