Eight districts get DCs

The government has appointed new deputy commissioners (DCs) in eight districts.

An official notice was issued in this regard by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (October 30). 

The districts are Joypurhat, Rajshahi, Rajbari, Sirajganj, Kushtia, Dinajpur, Shariatpur, and Natore.

According to the notification, Afroz Akter Chowdhury, Deputy Chief of the Planning Division, has been appointed as the DC of Joypurhat, while Afia Akter, Zonal Settlement Officer of the Chattogram Land Records and Survey Department, will serve as DC of Rajshahi. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping, will assume responsibility as DC of Rajbari, and Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Additional Director of the Public Housing Department, has been appointed DC of Sirajganj.

Other appointees include Md. Toufiqur Rahman from the Finance Division as DC of Kushtia, Md. Rafiqul Islam from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism for Dinajpur, Mohammad Ashraf Uddin from the Neuro Developmental Disabilities Protection Trust for Shariatpur, and Asma Shaheen from the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change as DC of Natore.
