Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has accorded a reception to the SAFF Championship winning Bangladesh women’s football team at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka today (Nov 2).
At the reception ceremony, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus asked the Bangladesh women's football team, who recently secured the 2024 SAFF Women's Championship title in Nepal, to submit a list of their demands and assured them of addressing these issues in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh clinched their second consecutive SAFF Women's Championship last Thursday by defeating hosts Nepal 2-1 in a thrilling final at Kathmandu's Dasarath Rangasala Stadium.
Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud told the reporters at the event that the Chief Adviser was attentive to the players’ concerns and requested that they outline their demands.
He also said “We will work on it once we come to know their demands in writing from the players,” he added.
The adviser also said they would find a way out of the girls' unpaid salaries with the newly-elected Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) members.
The reception, which took place at around 10:30 am, was attended by all 23 squad members, their manager Mahmuda Ananya, and head coach Peter Butler.
