Md Razwanur Rahman, an additional secretary in the Power Division, has been appointed as the new director general (DG) of the Islamic Foundation.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification about the appointment, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Mohammad Mamun Shibly, on Thursday.
Previously, on September 22, the government removed Muhammad Bashirul Alam from the DG position, assigning him to the Ministry of Public Administration.
Subsequently, Md Saiful Islam, an additional secretary in the Organization and Law Division of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, was temporarily appointed as DG. He held this role alongside his existing responsibilities until the new DG’s arrival.
Razwanur entered the Bangladesh Civil Service through the 17th BCS as an administration cadre. His background includes roles as assistant commissioner, executive magistrate, assistant commissioner (land), and Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
He has also served as deputy and joint secretary across various ministries and was previously DG at the Anti-Corruption Commission before his assignment in the Power Division.
