Police Headquarters has directed its field-level officers to take strict legal action against criminals, extortionists, and muggers.
This directive came during a monthly crime review meeting on Monday (Nov 11), presided over by Additional Inspector General of Police (Crime & Operations) Md. Akram Hossain.
The meeting included virtual attendance from Metropolitan Police Commissioners, Range DIGs, and District Police Superintendents.
Senior officials, including DIG (Operations) Md. Rezaul Karim, were present at Police Headquarters.
Akram Hossain during the meeting emphasized the importance of intensifying joint operations to recover illegal firearms, stressing that no leniency should be shown to those possessing illegal weapons.
He also directed unit heads to closely monitor efforts to apprehend fugitives and underscored the need for effective measures to prevent highway robberies.
The Additional IGP also urged officers to provide prompt service to citizens visiting police stations.
“Police personnel must be dedicated to ensuring that people receive the assistance they seek without any delay,” he said.
These details were shared through a press release by AIG (Media & Public Relations) Enamul Haque Sagar.
