Followers of Delhi’s Maulana Saad Kandhalvi entered Kakrail Mosque and took position this morning (November 15) to offer Jummah prayers.
Earlier, Saad’s followers had announced their plan to stay at the Kakrail Markaz Mosque. As per their announcement, people from different parts of the capital began heading toward the mosque from the morning. The Jummah prayers have already been completed.
Due to the large gathering of Saad’s followers, roads near Kakrail Mosque have remained closed since the morning. Security in the area has also been tightened by law enforcement agencies. To ensure safety, the roads leading to Ramna and the Chief Adviser’s residence have been closed.
For the past few days, tensions between the two factions of Tabligh Jamaat over control of the Kakrail Mosque and the Tongi Ijtema ground have intensified.
Saad’s followers warned that if there is any obstruction or trouble during their stay, Maulana Jubayer’s followers will be held responsible.
According to sources, Maulana Jubayer’s followers vacated their position at Kakrail Mosque on Friday morning, as their scheduled time for staying there ended.
Speaking to the media, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Zone said Jubayer’s followers had stayed at the mosque for four weeks. On Friday, they peacefully left the mosque, allowing Saad’s followers to enter in an orderly manner.
“To maintain law and order, additional police personnel have been deployed. The situation is under control, and the transition has been carried out peacefully,” the DC added.
