A joint operation by the members of Bangladesh Army, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and police led to the arrest of 26 drug dealers in the Millat Camp area near Mirpur-11 in the capital.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on Friday (Nov 15) by the 6th Independent AD Brigade of the Bangladesh Army based on secret information.
The arrested individuals included top listed drug dealers such as Mohammad Hafiz, Mohammad Rabbie Gazi, Mohammad Karim, Razia Begum, Mosha Bijli, and Dipa Akhter.
During the raid, the law enforcers recovered hemp, heroin, knives, machetes, and cash from the suspects.
Army officials said the arrestees have multiple drug-related cases filed against them at the Pallabi Police Station.
After necessary questioning and legal procedures, they were handed over to Pallabi Police.
The Bangladesh Army has stated that such operations will continue to free the youth from the curse of drugs and maintain law and order in the country.
